Darshana Tribal

Darshana Tribal is an American Tribal Style® belly dance performance troupe uniquely made up of 7 dancers from 3 different mid-western states. Founded and directed by Terri Allred, Director of Third Eye Tribal and business consultant of Fat Chance Belly Dance®, the group was put together with the intent of creating a group of mid-western dancers to preform at ATS® Homecoming 2015 and other national events. For ATS® Homecoming 2016, Terri has been asked to teach and we have been accepted to perform in the instructor's showcase. Now while Terri will already be there with her duties for Fat Chance Belly Dance®, that still leaves 6 of us that need to get our shimmy makers out to San Francisco. But we don't want to go alone. We want you to join the party!

What exactly do you mean "Join the Party!"?

All of us in Darshana Tribal have small troupes or no troupe to speak of in our home cities.  This is one of the reasons we banded together; however, being part of a multi-state troupe is hard on the pocketbook.  We need to cover travel to our few practices a year, travel to the different events, costuming, etc., and as such, we have exhausted our limited resources. This campaign is to help cover our airfare for six dancers from the mid-west to California and back for ATS® Homecoming 2016, with any excess going to cover hotels, meals, and other travel expenses associated with this trip.

Being from various places in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa, we do not have the opportunity to get together and practice as often as other performance troupes. This sometimes means that we don't have all of the fancy formations or elaborate combos, but what we do have is the ability to express the joy, fun, and sisterhood of American Tribal Style®.  This is how our motto and our goal became to have a "Party on the Stage!"

ATS® Homecoming is an all American Tribal Style® immersion weekend held in San Francisco, CA, by the creator of the style, Carolena Nerriccio-Bohlman. It is a gathering of ATS® Dancers from all over the world coming to one place in one time to share in the dance style we love. It is an amazing time of connection, sister/brotherhood, and honing our skills that is hard to find elsewhere. However, we understand that as many of you may want to go, sometimes circumstances prevent it. But we want to make your presence known to the community at large. We want you to be there, even if you can't actually be there. We want you to Join the Party!
